The “Show” – Springdell Summer CSA Pickup #7

Hi everyone! Jess here, happy to be sharing the debut of the 7th CSA box of the season!  A beautiful day for it, too!

So many delicious peaches! I swear they keep getting better each day. It’s a rainbow of flavors and colors here in this share box!  Let’s break it down:

Remember to bring back those egg containers, as Jamie is resorting to fruit and veggie boxes!

  • gladiolas and zinnias

Let me leave a friendly reminder that our part of enjoying all this lovely food is to ensure we bring back all the containers used to deliver it to us!  For example, if you belong to the flower share, bring a paper towel to wet and wrap around the stems of your flowers during transport. Yes, the flower vase that houses your flowers must stay behind at the farm stand.

Pickle pickle, who’s got the pickle? These sweet and sour brines are ready for the fridge (and shortly after that, my belly!)

Remember that the corn is good for more than just its kernels!  Use the leaves to make fresh tamales

You can also use the cobs to make corn cob jelly, which I find has a lovely honey flavor!

What will you be doing with your share? I look forward to exploring the share box with you this week!
