The “Show” – Springdell Summer CSA Pickup #7

Hi everyone, Jess here and ready to enjoy another scrumptious week of goodies with you!
The CSA crates continue to get heavier and more vibrant as the season goes on. Let’s take a look.

Small shares received corn, carrots, garlic, plums, cukes, chard and peaches.  (Might I suggest this recipe for those with chard?)

Gladiolas! Let me just say that the PYO flower garden is amazing! This picture doesn’t do it justice.  The colors are so vibrant and lovely!

And check out the garlic! Hooray for garlic and all of it’s health benefits! Not to mention, it tastes great and keeps the vampires away!

If you’re not planning on using your garlic right away, you can hang it in a cool dry place like so, and pull off the bulbs as you use them. I’ll keep garlic for long periods of time this way.

After last Monday’s successful rice bowl dinner, I thought a re-run was in order!

If you have any zucchini and are looking to try something new, look no further!  As promised, here’s the recipe for Zucchini Bars shared by fellow Springdellian Mira G!  Thanks again, Mira!

I’m looking forward to sharing another week of culinary adventure with you. As always, if you have a tip or recipe you’d like to add to the Veggiescope, please feel free to keep in touch! Meanwhile, have a wonderful week!
