My little guy is going to try to own making a weekly dinner. Our first night he asked to make a steak, so we thawed a ‘Dellmonico and he opted for a Herd Nerd SPICE rub. He put the littler guy on mashed potato duty and I was assigned grill sous.
He begrudgingly grilled me some eggplant and nectarines (he’s not into eggplant yet, and he likes his nectarines raw). They taste better than when I cook them.
Here’s the final product! Grilled Eggplant brushed with BBQ sauce (reader Leela O’s suggestion, thanks Leela!), grilled corn on the cob (best I’ve had off the grill), grilled nectarine, and a Spring’DellMonico Steak. Other veggies included those lovely fresh garlic mashed potatoes and slivers of fresh pepper. I couldn’t be prouder of this little one.

That’s about it for this week! As fall fast approaches, grab and preserve as many of these lovely veggies for the winter as you can. It can feel like you’ll never see the end of the season, but it changes quickly!

Thanks for reading, thanks to our farmers for providing us with amazing produce week after week, and thanks for food we can feel good about. See you back here soon with the “Tell” and throughout the week on the Facebook page. If you have any yummy tested recipes to share, please let me know and I’ll pop them up on the Veggiescope for all to peruse. Enjoy the rest of your week!
