Springdell Show and Tell- Summer CSA Sign Ups!

Hi everyone, Jess here with a quick CSA check-in and a few brief reminders.

The next Group A&B Winter CSA Pickup on Saturday, January 25th. Do keep in mind that hours are usually extended beyond the usual 10am-2pm pickup on dual group pickup days.
If you haven’t already, NOW is the time to sign up for the Summer 2020 CSA! Email CSA at Springdellfarms.com, or stop by the farm stand on a Saturday to pick up your paperwork. It’s a wonderful way to ensure you and your family are well-fed over the summer and, with a little preparation, well into the fall and winter! Sign-up for yours today!
Check in with Farmer Jamie to be wait-listed for a Meat Subscription (currently sold out until 2021). If you’re a carnivore, this is a wonderful way to enjoy ethically raised meats. The day’s bacon was fresh, not frozen, and I’m very much looking forward to enjoying it soon!
Not on the Meat Subscription plan but would still like to enjoy Springdell Meats? A great selection is also available at the farm stand without a subscription! This “Pork Bundle” package was from a recent flash sale at the stand. YUM!
This week has been hectic, so I’ve been using the slow cooker a LOT! First, slow cooker Butternut Squash Risotto made an appearance, then Char Siu Pork, then Baked Ziti with Springdell Sausage. Tonight, I had some Country Style Pork Ribs bubbling away. Next, I plan to try a slow cooker stuffed acorn squash, and we’ll see what happens. As always, great results will be shared with you in the form of recipes!
I’ve been loving the new french press and the Bali Blue Moon coffee from Muddy Water Coffee Roasters. Despite a devastating fire at his business in recent times, Tim Van Sipe has been able to stay strong and bounce back with some amazing beans! Thanks, Tim, for keeping us happily caffeinated!

Finally, please save your half-gallon orange juice-type cartons and bring them to the farm stand. They will be recycled for May’s Annual Sheep Shearing event! If you’re from Westford, you’ll note that they recently stopped collecting cartons in recycle bins, so this gives us all a place to put them while helping the farm prepare for a fun day. Thanks for your help and consideration!

Meanwhile, I look forward to seeing you back here soon. Keep the questions and comments coming, I’m happy to hear from each and every one of you!
