The “Show” – Springdell Spring CSA pickup #1

We did it everyone, we made it to Spring!  Today is pickup #1 of the Spring share, the bridge between winter and summer shares.  As you know, the spring share is a smaller take as we are waiting for Mother Nature to due her job, and it is often heavy on greens.  Today’s share has two true beauties of the season, fiddleheads and asparagus.  Embrace these two during their short early spring season, they are delicious!

  • Eggs
  • Asparagus
  • Fiddleheads

If any of you would like an idea for these goodies check out what we had for Sunday Night Dinner yesterday, Spring Pasta!

Jess’ favorite use of these ingredients is this spring soup.  It is SO good! Check out Veggiescope for other ideas!

While you’re swinging by the farmstand this week for the lovely spring greens, try one of the cheeses that came in from Mozzarella House!  Not able to eat it before the expiration dates?  No worries, changing out the water makes it last even longer (we love that trick)!

If you don’t have this on your calendar yet, add it on there!  It is the annual sheep shearing and open house event at the farm.  A good time isn’t always had by all.  There will be new farm friends joining us, and of course CSA365 will be there!  If you haven’t been to check out the sheep shearing, it really is a cool thing to see, our kids love it!

Have a great week everyone!
