The “Show” – Springdell Spring CSA Pickup #3

Hi everyone, Jess here ready to share the goodies from the 3rd Spring CSA pickup of the season. I’ll keep this one short and sweet as you’ve gotten a few emails from me these past few days.

Asparagus

I had accidentally left this out of yesterday’s Sheep Shearing recap: The lovely photography of Alexandria Leigh Diamond of Leominster and an employee of Springdell Farm!

Have you seen all the great events on the summer schedule? Story times, feeding hours, yoga classes, a Gibbet Hill tour and a social to discuss the local food. Check out the home page for a list of current local events and times, hope to see you there!

Remember if you’re not housing your lettuce roots in water to eat it quickly, separate the leaves from the plant, rinse them, pat them dry, and store loosely in a crisper bag in the fridge. This will keep the lettuce fresher.

Tonight seems like a good night to try Sarah’s Spinach Asparagus Pesto Pasta. How is the CSA experience going for you? Do you have any questions? Are any of the veggies overwhelming you? Be not afraid to reach out and let me know how it’s going, I’m happy to help answer any questions I can! Do you have a tip or recipe to share? Drop me a line about that too so that we can keep this blog going! Thanks for reading, and I look forward to checking in with you this week.
