Hello everyone, Jess and Sarah here. Here’s a photo of our share today!
To clarify, this is the photo Jess had trouble taking, because her littlest one kept sticking his hand in the shot to grab a pea. So here is the “reality” photo:
Jess here. I’m not sure who left the garlic scapes in the swap box, but I feel like I’ve failed you. These are so yummy sautéed and tossed in just about any dish. My goal is to get you to love these beauties again. Here’s a link to start (thanks to fellow Springdellian Marian H. for sharing this!)
Cody was guarding the share boxes today to make sure all veggies were present and accounted for. A welcome sight at the farm!
Now for Sarah to let you know the details of today’s share.
Hi Everyone! Today’s share box gave us a few new items this week. The new veggies will keep coming from here on out. My boys were in the back cheering when they saw cucumbers, their favorite! So here goes:
- 1 Box of snap peas
- 1 bag “field run” lettuce mix
- 4 salad cucumbers
- 2 hothouse tomatoes
- 2 bunches of Red Russian Kale
- 1 bunch of collard greens
- 2 heads of lettuce
- 1 bunch of fennel fronds
- 1 bunch of radishes
- 2 “Jam grade” berries (the strawberries are on their way out)
- 1 bunch of winter kale
- 1 bunch of red kale
- 1 bag of field lettuce
Just a few reminders from around the farm…
Your tags are what tell our farmers what to pack in your boxes. Please remember to build it into your routine to return your tag right away when picking up your share. Thank you!
The swap box is back! If there is something in your share you may not be too fond of you could always place it in the swap box! We at CSA365 hope that you first try a few of our recipes from veggie scope before you give up on a veggie, but this is a great option too. On the flip side, anything you see in there is fair game, grab it and eat it up! May no veggie go unloved.
Have a great week all! Be checking in on the site for new recipes and updates to the veggie scope!
