I’m sure you all heard from farmer Jamie today that the shares this week will be light. It is an in between time for crops. The summer veggies are ending and the fall veggies are starting up. With the extreme challenges this year with the drought the timing of the crops is a bit off. Honestly, I was expecting much less and was very pleasantly surprised at pick up time today. Our share boxes still had plenty, and we can use this as a week to catch up on our back log of food. I know I have plenty in need of eating or preparing to store for the winter, as does Jess. You know we at CSA365 like no veggie to go unloved! So let’s take a look into share box #15:
- acorn squash
- buttecup squash
- 2 bags of spinach
- Two Apple totes, honey crisp and macoun
It was nice to have a bit of rain today to help in the fields, although I could have done without the humidity! Here’s to another great week ahead, hop on the site and share what’s cookin’ at your house!
